Josephine Edrington

Josephine  Edrington was an original. Born and raised in the Philippines with a mongoose for a pet she was a real tom boy. After college in the US Jo returned to Manila and met and married TC Edrington III who then a Lieutenant  the US Navy. Jo was a delightful woman who later became a entrepreneurial milliner and made hats (Josephine Original) the were seen around Washington DC.  After TCE III passed away she resumed a career at a division of the Rand Corporation. Her parents were interned in Santo Tomas during WWII.

Josephine was a figure in the Manila social swirl, and she and Tom III were invited to receptions at the Presidential Palace - the The Old Navy was a wonderful place of manners, excitement, and romance - alas war would come and the magic of that time and place would disappear into the photos and mementos of a bygone time - but my goodness they were such grand times.

Josephine in Manila - with the guys. This is an old photo booth picture taken at Legaspi Garden. In its metal frame, it is a glimpse back to pre WW II Manila and the times of the young social set. Among the many things that are now lost is how much did the "Photomatic" cost and what was Legaspi Garden?
