The Macallan has continued to build on its position as a leader in the prestige spirits category over the past year, delivering double-digit growth during a period of significant global challenges.

2024 marks a milestone as we celebrate The Macallan's 200th anniversary. The occasion presents a unique opportunity to engage with consumers and customers around the world, sharing the rich history and vision of our brand through innovative products, immersive experiences and compelling storytelling.

Above all, our commitment to the quality of The Macallan spirit continues to be at the heart of our strategy. In 2023 we became co-owners of Grupo Estévez, and its vineyards, bodegas and the renowned Valdespino sherry brand. This year we have built on our deep relationship with Jerez with the acquisition of the Vasyma cooperage which produces many of the oak casks used to mature this exceptional whisky and taken a 50% stake in our American oak supplier, Coopers Oak.

This series of investments will ensure we continue to provide The Macallan with a sustainable supply of the finest sherry-seasoned casks and underpin its mastery for years to come.

The Macallan’s reputation for quality and innovation has continued with the launch of sought-after limited editions and permanent expressions. Our Colour Collection has generated an enthusiastic response from customers and consumers in Global Travel Retail. We have also released The Macallan Horizon, a feat of design and engineering born from our long-term partnership with Bentley Motors.

The Macallan also embarked on a creative collaboration with Stella and Mary McCartney last year. The third release from the brand’s Harmony Collection, with two expressions, Amber Meadow for the domestic market and Green Meadow as a travel retail exclusive, celebrates the beauty of Scotland and respect and admiration for the natural world.

The continued exceptional performance of The Macallan last year is the result of the unwavering efforts of Edrington colleagues around the world, and I thank them all for their constant commitment to creativity and excellence.
