Annual Report 2026 - Brugal

We have made excellent progress in our premiumisation strategy and our priority markets

Augusto Ramírez MD, Brugal
Brugal delivered another robust performance over the past year, with continued growth in the Dominican Republic and international priority markets helping to sustain the momentum behind our ambition to become the world’s number one ultra-premium rum.

We have made excellent progress in our priority markets, with 1888 becoming the third largest ultra-premium rum in the United States and ranked sixth in the world.

This year saw the launch of Brugal's first national campaign in the United States for Brugal 1888. At the heart of this campaign is a clear statement: "Passion is what sets us apart, and passion is what brings us together". Presented by the fifth generation of Rum Masters of the Brugal family, the new campaign marks a step change in the scale of our communication strategy.

We have also strengthened our presence in culture through partnerships with masters in their field, including world renowned Dominican designer, Oscar de la Renta.

The new artist collaboration between Brugal 1888 and father and daughter artists Fernando and Mónica Varela builds on our tradition of transforming bottles into coveted works of art.

We have continued to build our ultra-premium credentials with new editions, including Colección Visionaria Edición 03 and Andrés Brugal, while Doble Reserva has performed strongly in the Dominican Republic and Spain.

Sustainability remains integral to our strategy. As well as reducing our water use by 50% in recent years, we transformed nine million gallons of wastewater into biofertiliser for use in local fields this year. We have increased the use of renewable power through our solar facility and in the coming year we will move forward with our plans for more renewable power through a dedicated biomass facility.

It was inspiring to see Brugal and Edrington come together this year for Pasos que Inspiran, a global Edrington Giving More initiative, which brought together more than 1,300 colleagues to raise funds for the Brugal Foundation-funded school near our maturation and bottling site in Puerto Plata.

Our people are central to our success, and the progress we have delivered this year is a reflection of the talent and commitment of our teams in the Dominican Republic and Edrington.

Looking ahead, we will continue to invest in our brand, people and capabilities, building momentum in our core markets while expanding the reach of Brugal 1888 and our ultra-premium portfolio.
