Edrington aims to cultivate an inclusive environment that celebrates diversity of thought and enables everyone to make meaningful contributions. To achieve an inclusive and high-performance culture we have introduced progressive initiatives and policies focussing on diversity, equity and inclusion (DE&I), development of our people, engagement and wellbeing.
Our DE&I agenda focuses on three areas: culture and engagement, awareness and education and impactful interventions. To ensure that our efforts are implemented effectively, we have DE&I champions for each business unit and region, who along with the chairs of two employee networks Balance (gender) and Kick-start (early careers), form our global DE&I working group. This group supports the implementation of our strategy across Edrington and is chaired by our DE&I Manager.
During the year we introduced a new Global Caring Policy that provides additional support to employees around the world who have care responsibilities for a family member that is seriously ill, older or disabled. At the heart of the policy is the provision of up to five days of paid leave per year to help ensure employees can support their loved ones when they need to.
We continue to refine and expand our online Edrington Academy. Upskill Together Hubs have been developed focused on key global skills required to grow and develop the business. We delivered our annual Learning at Work festival, which included over 100 learning sessions and exceeded our target on individual development plans with 99% of our employees having plans in place.
The Group increased its global engagement score from 74% to 80% in our recent employee survey, a result that places Edrington in the top quartile of companies. This is a great result and is a testament to our teams across the business.
The wellbeing of our employees is of vital importance to the culture and business within Edrington. We remain committed to promoting our Employee Assistance Programme, which offers free confidential resources and counselling services to our employees and their immediate families. In addition, we have targeted wellbeing sessions throughout the year ranging from office yoga sessions to money matter seminars to help our staff manage areas of importance in their lives.
