Giving More
Our objectives
-
Contribute up to 1% of EBIT to Giving More initiatives around the world
-
Double-match all employee-initiated Giving More fundraising
-
Inspire all employees to use their four days' paid leave for Giving More activities
Giving is one of Edrington’s four core values and is at the centre of everything we do. This is a value which was inherited from our principal shareholder, The Robertson Trust, Scotland’s largest independent grant-making trust. Since Edrington’s inception in 1961, the Trust has donated approximately £343m, primarily funded by its dividends from Edrington, to a wide range of charitable organisations across Scotland, supporting its vision of working for a fairer Scotland.
For the financial year, Edrington globally donated £3.1m with additional funding granted for initiatives supporting the Turkey/Syria earthquake supporting around 375 individual charities. This includes the double-matched employee fundraising efforts of over £573,000 for 2022/23.
In addition to Giving More though charitable funding, Edrington provides each employee with four days’ paid leave to volunteer in their local community. We encourage employees to dedicate this time to the causes that matter most to them and the take-up of these days has improved year on year.
