Edrington is committed to promoting the responsible consumption of its brands by adults who choose to drink alcohol. A healthy population and a relationship of trust with consumers are an intrinsic part of the success of our business. Our responsibility starts with ensuring our brands are distilled, packaged, and promoted to a consistently high standard everywhere in the world. Both the industry and our organisation have a vital role to play in promoting responsible attitudes to alcohol.
As part of our year-round education and training programmes on promoting responsible consumption, Edrington runs Alcohol Responsibility Month, a global event with a schedule of activities that help our people enjoy and promote our brands responsibly. During the year Edrington continued its online Drinkaware at Work training programme, which was supported by face-to-face training at our Global Supply Chain centre in Glasgow. We also re-launched our Marketing Code training in November across the Group.
Within local markets, our business works with and funds organisations that promote responsible consumption to consumers and work to reduce the harms associated with alcohol misuse, including Drinkaware and Community Alcohol Partnership.
We have pledged that 100% of our brands’ packaging will carry responsibility advice by 2025. Currently, over 95% of our products carry these messages, with plans in place to roll out QR codes with links to online responsibility guidance in the next year.
