Diversity & Inclusion

Our aim is to cultivate an environment that celebrates diversity and inclusion and enables all employees to make meaningful contributions. As a business, we appreciate that the best results are achieved by a diverse group of people and we need to work continually and listen to our people to evolve every part of our D&I strategy.

We want to continue to further broaden our diversity and inclusion agenda, committing to clear actions to ensure our workforce is a true representation of our society and consumers across the globe.

Scott McCroskie

Diversity & Inclusivity Charter

As one of the first signatories of the Scotch Whisky Association’s Diversity and Inclusivity Charter launched in 2020, Edrington is fully supportive of the industry’s commitment to improving equal opportunities across the sector and ensuring the industry embraces diversity in all its forms across its global workforce. In addition to clear, actionable targets, which include aiming for a gender balance of 50:50 male/female ratio in the workforce and the elimination of any gender pay gap, the charter commits companies to actively support equal opportunities and treatment in the Scotch Whisky sector.

Balance Network

The Balance Network is an employee-led volunteer group, sponsored by Scott McCroskie, the Chief Executive. Passionate about the promotion of diversity and inclusion in the workplace, the network's initial focus on gender equality and the vision to create balanced opportunities and visibility for women, has developed to represent other areas of equality in all regions. Edrington’s progress on our diversity and inclusion agenda has been fuelled by having the right programmes in place to meet our diversity targets.

Ethnicity

One area that we know we need to make more progress on is ethnic diversity. That is why we recently announced new measures to widen our D&I agenda to increase focus on ethnic diversity and inclusion to ensure that our employee base reflects the communities we operate in and create targeted action plans where we have gaps.

Disability Confident

The need to attract, retain and develop an inclusive workforce that reflects the communities we serve has never been so important.

Being Disability Confident is an opportunity for Edrington to gain access to an important pool of talent, remove barriers that might be preventing disabled people and those with long term health conditions from accessing employment with us, and to create the type of environment that allows our colleagues with disabilities or impairments to flourish in their career. The Disability Confident scheme is a UK Government initiative but this will inform our global practices and policies to shape the diversity agenda across all regions.

Meeting

Your Voice

Your Voice is a UK-wide discussion group where a diverse group of employee representatives meet with our Chief Executive and HR Director to discuss what really matters.

The group meets three times a year and representatives are rotated on an annual basis, allowing others to have the opportunity to join the group in the future.

Representatives jointly decide the agenda for the meetings to allow for employee feedback to be heard. Additionally, Your Voice provides an opportunity where the company can share information on its plans, ensuring that colleagues across the business have an opportunity to provide feedback and voice their views.

Giving More to Education

Edrington is committed to valuable education programmes that benefit our employees and future talent, allowing people to thrive and feel supported in their lives and careers.

We work with several organisations through a variety of engagements including school-based mentoring programmes, work experience, STEM ambassadorial activities and internships.

We have a key commitment to The Robertson Trust’s Journey to Success Programme, supporting talented young people from Scotland who face social and financial barriers to participation in higher education. The Edrington Career Pathway has been developed to assist Robertson Scholars into a range of internships and high-quality graduate careers in Edrington, with an emphasis on the development of future leaders.
