Sustainability and Responsibility
Sustainability & Responsibility
Building a sustainable business in a changing world
Edrington was created to be a company that makes a positive contribution to the communities where we live and work.
Over more than 160 years, we have built a responsible and sustainable business that respects the environment around us.
Today, we use our Sustainability and Responsibility framework to set out our priorities and measure our progress. The framework anchors four strategies that are designed to protect our environment, promote our brands responsibly, help our people thrive, and give more to the communities in which we live and work.
This is underpinned by a governance structure and performance targets to keep us on track. We report on each of our four focus areas and our progress towards our targets in our Annual Report.
Protect the environment
We depend on the people and the environment around us and the climate crisis demands action from us all.
That's why we have set a series of stretching targets aligned with the Science Based Targets Initiative that will reduce our carbon emissions in line with a 1.5°C future.
It's important to be open about the impacts our business has on the environment: distilling spirits requires intense heat and the purest water. Our brands need to be packaged with creativity and care and then transported to people all over the world.
Our environmental strategy sets out our plan to shrink our global footprint and reach Net Zero by 2045.
Select each of our five focus areas to see how we intend to deliver measurable targets.
Our dedicated Sustainable Partner Support Hub platform is designed to empower our suppliers and partners with exclusive training, resources and guidance, all perfectly aligned with our corporate sustainability goals.
At the heart of our commitment to sustainability lies the recognition that we are only as strong as our partners and suppliers. By introducing the Sustainable Partner Support Hub we hope to develop a network of more sustainable businesses.
